So many "diet books" are quick fixes that only the rarest of persons can stay with forever. That ends with this book. I think if I had found this the year my son passed, I wouldn't be where I am today struggling with weight issues. This is a book that helps you realize that you have all the necessary tools, energy and abilities to do this! You don't need a diet, gym or pills to help you get where you want to be. BUT, you will have to take some hard truthful looks at what got you where you are. It is definitely worth purchasing! I already have line of friends who want to borrow it.

After reading Body Clutter, I liked the general idea behind this book. There is more to losing weight than just a physical diet. Like most illnesses and other disturbances that can cause dis-function and dis-ease, keeping the excess pounds on our bodies can be psychologically induced, or has a significant psychological component. Flylady and the Dinner Diva meticulously address this in detail relating to their own personal experiences with excess weight - the importance of reducing the excess psychologically weight (or "clutter") inside, before the physical body can shed its extra weight (or "clutter") on the outside. In very typical FlyLady and Dinner Diva fashion, taking babysteps and establishing routines are stressed throughout to help elimimate this personal "Body Clutter." The book was very easy to follow and understand, and encouraged a deal of soul-searching and honest self reflection. What I did not like about the book was implied eating pattern stressed as to lose the outside "Body Clutter." Even though lots of water and fiber was stressed, the regimen was low in fruit and whole grains and extremely high in meat and dairy. I thought when I read through these specific passages, "Isn't this diet craze...dead?" This suggested regimen brought my rating down from an excellent to a borderline average. Overall, I would recommend the book for its ideology, that psychological clutter must be removed before removing the excess physical body weight. However, don't take the diet regimen as -the- one to take to remove the "body clutter." It's always recommended to consult with a health professional before embarking on a dietary plan so it is healthy and safe, and so you can safely achieve your personal weight loss goals and keep the weight off permanently. I would appreciate a vote on this guide, if you found this informative and helpful or not, as your feedback helps me develop further reviews and guides. I love this book. There is so much to dieting but getting your mindset right is the first step to losing pounds if you are a yo- yo dieter or feel overwhelmed. this book helps you get rid of your mind clutter so that you can get rid of your body "clutter". It encourages you to start with small steps and then make them routines in your daily life. The more steps you take the easier everything gets with the end result of many more clothes being sold on ebay as they won't fit you anymore! This is more of a life choice book and not the typical diet book. Very interesting and thought provoking book.
