Additional information
The 1980s progenitors of their fellow Scots Franz Ferdinand, the Fire Engines were contemporaries of Gang Of Four, sharing that band's jagged, dislocated approach while cultivating the sharp, lo-fi sound of their comrades-in-arms Josef K and Orange Juice. Though this grab-bag of demos and live recordings is hardly stereophile quality, it still sounds as fresh as if it was recorded yesterday, and likely always will.
