Works as it supposed to. The handle is wooden so should not be exposed to direct flame.

The handle falls off after 2-3 uses. It's a hollow wooden shaft, and the metal part which sticks into it is less than 2cm long. The hole is quite large, and the metal part which fits into it is cross-shaped, so only cross tips touch the wood. This is enough to retain the handle to complete the product, but when the metal mat heats up on a flame, it burns away the small amount of wood which is holding it in place, so when you grab the handle it just comes off, and cannot be refitted. Basically, this product is made to look ok, until you use it for the intended purpose, after which it falls apart after a couple of uses. It's a real waste of money.

Be better if handle could be unclipped. Handle gets in the way.

Our Belling gas hob smallest burner was too hot to simmer absorption rice and gravy mix. Problem solved with this ring. The cooking pots now sit over the centre of the flame without boiling the liquid. Simmer only just as we need. Very happy. No more offset pots on the gas burner. Recommended

Hi, sorry for this feedback, however the quality of the product (simmer heat ring) was very poor, rusted very easily so I had to throw them out.
