As a free-diving spear-fisher for over 50 years, I found this book compelling reading. As I read through the chapters, segregated by depths into the abyss, I was delighted to find that there was some much more to be learned about the oceans than what was imaginable. For example, I was not aware that any civilian could explore the depths of the Cayman Trench down to 2000 feet in what is basically a home-made U/W vehicle, that has logged over 800 dives to depths greater than 1000 feet! Such a trip is now on my 'bucket list' of things to do before I die. Thanks for bringing that fact alone to me.
