If you're a Doctor Who fan, this box set is a must. The main feature "The Day Of The Doctor" is brilliant as it touches upon every aspect of the attributes we love within the Time Lord's character & should satisfy every fan, regardless of what era of Doctor Who you loved or what Doctor was your favourite. The story is clever enough to unite all of the show's eras & Doctors, resulting in a conclusion which not only celebrates an amazing 50 years of the show, but to set the scene for (hopefully), the next 50 years. David Tennant (my Doctor), returns to the show seamlessly, as though he never ever left it. His passion, commitment & love for the character he portrays, radiates throughout his performance & the chemistry between Tennant & Smith is exceptional, revealing the obvious respect both actors have for each other. "The Name Of The Doctor" delivers a meaningful & convincing explanation of the Clara Oswald enigma & showcases Matt Smith's fine portrayal of the many facets of the Doctor's psyche. Also included in this boxed set are an extensive set of "extras" some which were only previously available via normal definition DVD or the internet. This blu ray version has excellent visual & audio content, knocking the socks off the picture quality of the DVD version. The only criticism I have is that there is not a 3D version of "The Day Of The Doctor" included within the set, however, this is compensated by the inclusion of a blu ray / HD version of Mark Gatiss's fantastic "An Adventure In Space & Time", which was previously only available via the DVD format. Peter Davison's " The Five (ish) Doctors Re Boot" is really funny & is sure to put a smile on the viewer's face. Again, another very clever & well written mini drama. Well done Mr Davison. This region B version boxed set plays perfectly on UK blu ray players so it is a great purchase when you consider that the UK version is often seen to be advertised at £100 plus for a used / second hand copy. Be your own judge......... but I doubt you'll be disappointed!! Read full review
