We saw these in a local shop going for around $15 and when we found one on the net for less than $5, we thought we would get one for our kitten. After we get it, we found that there is no 'on' switch. You open it up, insert the first battery, then once you try to insert the second battery, as soon as the contacts are made with battery 2, the toy starts vibrating(wanting to roll) before you can fully lock battery 2 in place. You have to be nimble. Then you have to close it while it is trying to roll in your hands. While it does roll across the floor and moves away from obstacles, occasionally it gets stuck and just tries to keep moving. The instructions suggest not to leave it turned on for more that a half hour, however, with no 'Off' switch, you have to remove a battery to shut it down. We left ours run while we went to the shop for several hours. When we came home, the toy was stuck in a corner and you could smell burnt wiring through the room. We removed the batteries and haven't used it since. BTW, the cat played with it once, for a few minutes and now ignores it.Read full review
