A well-written and easy to follow account of the U-Boat war from a simultaneous, dual perspective. Cause and effect are here clearly shown, as are intention and response to the methods, tactics and equipment used in the conflict. The book does not go too far from it's major sources of information, resulting in an especially clear account. In a way I was reminded of Churchill's wartime correspondence which was published verbatim, in terms of the clarity of the view into Donitz own thought process and reasoning as he directed his forces against the allies. If you have any interest in the subject matter, this is a must-read book.
