I had only read one of Douglas Preston books previously which was 'Cabinet of Curiosities' and loved it. After giving the third of this trilogy to a friend to read I decided to read them myself and lo and behold, once again could not put the book down. From the first pages when they took me in the story to Africa, I was there. I could visualise the lion, the situation, the blood and horror of those first few pages. Each chapter took me further along and being easy to read with chapters being short and different I was hooked. Pendergast is a person I would love to have on my side. He is thorough, a gentleman as well as being different. His search for the missing areas of his wife's live and death is a mission which to us is an adventure. Must buy and Must read for all....remember this is Book 1 of a trilogy.Read full review
