Author Biography
Pete Black grew up in southwest Alabama in Monroeville. He is a University of Alabama graduate with degrees in education and engineering. In 2010, he retired from the Alabama River Pulp Company in Monroeville after working 33 years in the pulp and paper industry. Pete and his wife Patsy have been married for 36 years and have four adult children - Jonathan, Robert, Watson, and Anna Katherine. Patsy has served on the Monroe County School Board for the past twelve years and is currently School Board President. Pete is currently employed with Parsons & Whittemore, Inc. as the Alabama Business and Community Development Manager. In this capacity, he works closely with the local economic development authority and local elected officials to attract economic development projects to the region.
