I am loving the MateBook the couple of weeks I have had it. it is a great option for a top shelf ultrabook with the looks and build of a MacBook without being tied to the Mac ecosystem; it works great with Windows & Linux. For almost identical external dimensions as the 13" MacBook, the MateBook squeezes in a bigger screen - particularly taller (3:2) which is great for working with pdfs and other documents. For me this screen height was the clincher over the Dell XPS or ASUS ZenBook which stick to the common FHD 16:9 which may be ideal for watching video - but is frustrating if you actually want to get some work done to earn the ultrabook's keep! Hiding the webcam in the base is actually a security plus for me - much neater than the Post-It notes I permanently had over it on my MacBook Air & HP EliteBook to prevent accidentally showing me in my PJs on those midnight international web-conferences! With the touch sensor in the power-button, the camera isn't needed for biometric login. Thunderbolt and backwards compatibility with USB-A also puts it ahead of the MacBook, XPS, ZenBook & Surface Laptop. The only accessory it needs is a sticker to cover the logo on the lid to avoid the snide comments about Huawei spying! The only negative I have is the minor rattle when clicking the touch pad.Read full review
