An interpretation of Ibn 'Arabi's (d. 1240) work originally entitled in Arabic 'Sharjarat al -kawn' ('The Tree of Being') together with the translator's introduction to the life and work of Ibn 'Arabi, an an appendix containing Tosun Bayrak's description of the Prophet Muhammad and his translation from a 16th-century work listing the 201names and attributes of the Prophet Muhammad.

Author Biography
Shaykh Tosun Bayrak is a Sufi master of the Halveti-Jerrahi order. Born in Istanbul he studied art, architecture and art history becoming a well-known artist with works in many collections. After meeting his teacher, Muzaffer Ozak Ashki al-Jerrahi in 1970 he devoted his life to the study and teaching of Islam and Sufism. In addition to two books of poetry in Turkish and many articles on art and religion, he has written, translated and edited numerous books on Islamic spirituality.
