I enjoyed the original (1974) with Charles Bronson as Paul Kersey. The original movie had two people who became more famous in Jeff Goldblum (film debut) and Stuart Margolin. This is a remake but with all the modern tech items such as mobile phones and computers. Paul Kersey's wife was killed in a home invasion and that sets Paul off on vigilante acts. Bruce Willis is a doctor whereas Bronson was an architect. It moves along nicely and has some things the same as the original. Bruce brings his own character to the screen and does the part justice. You don't need to see the first movie and don't compare them.
