Curious about this inexpensive book, I picked it up and found that it read as though somebody had rehearsed LaToya on exactly what she should write -- it did not at all "ring true." The part at which she addresses her relationship with manager Jack Gordon and then he becomes a player in the story is very forced. As a matter of fact, I could imagine that Gordon influenced her, and negatively so. When she *very suddenly* talks about her marrying him amidst insane in-family fighting and Joe Jackson's detesting the man (where she also hurries over the prior convictions against Gordon), the book's feel changed -- it felt as though the last fourth of the book is a affected attempt at completely exonerating Gordon, and reads, well, weirdly. Forced and un-natural. All in all, a piece of fluff, with so me fluffy pictures, also.Read full review
I thought it was a very good read. Latoya has such a good heart, so you felt comfortable knowing that it was a lady with a lot of integrity, writing her journey.

I recently purchased this book through Ebay and I must say it was a little difficult to put down the book but I find that a lot that was in the book to be untrue or not that accurate. I believe a lot of what she has to say about her family but when it came to her & her issues with her family it sounded unreal or made up. In conclusion it was an ok book. All I could really say is that if all that happend in this book is real, I feel real bad for all the Jackson family"especially in there youth". MJ "I hope you finally find the peace and joy that you were always looking for in life".
ok I am excited to have this book... I've read in other places how it tells the dark side of the Jackson's lives.. Will add a better comment when I read the book and let ya know what I thought... Just can't wait to read it...
dispite all the obstacles this musicial family went through, today they remain loving, kind, giving and on top of the world.
