bought two K&N filters ,One for my Kawasaki Vulcan hypercharger, and the other for my 2011 Hilux . in the bike to make the filter fit I had to shave both sides of the filter rubber away , so that the housing cold seal properly. I was very disappointed to find that the one for the Hilux had the same problem. The original filter has very soft base whish allows the cover of the air box to compress the filter enough to give a good seal, but the K&N filter has a harder base which has no flexibility to allow the air box lid to seal properly, Hence no guarantees that water wont get past the seal on a water crossing a costly mistake. Needless to say I have gone back the the original filter, cheaper than a motor rebuild. Have never had any problems with external K&N pod filters , but am now reluctant to ever use a K&N internally housed filter of any application,The quality control is probably not what it should be for the reputation they are trying to perceiveRead full review

Although K&N filters are an awesome filter this filter did not fit as a genuine replacement part - the filter was too tall to fit inside the filter housing and made the clips very hard to close on the top housing lid, it may squash in time but as straight up fitting went it was not a great fit.
