"Kagemusha", the Samurai movie directed by Akira Kurosawa (one of the most oustanding film directors and producers ever) depicts the power struggles at the highest level in ancient Japan in thew late 1500s, just before the beginning of the Tokugawa Shogunate that lasted until the late 1880s. After 30 years (I first watched it at an international film festival in Durban, South Africa, in 1980 just after it was released) it still has the same breath-taking effect now, and I consider myself fortunate to have found the DVD after so many years!
