The unit was bigger and heavier than I expected (I clearly didn't read the dimensions). It is very solidly built and seems much better than the cheaper options in Bunnings. I received a black one with plastic blades but I understand there are galv (silver) coloured ones too (newer?) and ones with metal blades (older?). My only complaints are that it is not whisper quiet as advertised and the instructions could be clearer (as I am not a roofer and haven't installed one before). On a full sun day I can hear the fan spinning from inside the house (I think vibrations through the house structure as the from the roof the fan motor does not sound faulty) which is a little disappointing and annoying. Will try to see if I can isolate it better but it is now silicone into place.

Some of the other solar roof ventilators I looked at prior to purchasing the KSV220 were really cheap looking and were made of plastic. It was great to find a unit that is robust and made with steel and of course made in Australia for not much more than the cheapies. As soon as we unpacked it from the carton the first hint of solar rays started the fan going, you could feel the air blowing out from the dome. All very good so far, only had it installed for few days now and it is doing its job, I still need to add some ceiling vents inside to further improve the air circulation.

Its so easy to install and starts working once the sun heats up. It looks good unlike the old whirlybirds and so much quieter. Highly recommended
