The game runs really well on the PS2. Due to my PS2's Disk Drive though, and possibly region code issues, the cinematics do struggle and lag. But that's no problem, because thanks to the internet, and some fine resources, we can view them on the computer/online. However, that doesn't detract from the main point of this game...and that's the main game play, which runs just fine. It really is a fantastic game. Everything has been improved from the first game, because they actually listened to the fans. As examples, the combat system, the Gummi stages, and the graphics have all improved. Pretty much every Kingdom Hearts game has evolved thanks to this game. It is highly recommended. It really does demonstrate how incredible the universes of Final Fantasy and Disney can be with their various interactions and inter dimensional links. I mean, it's taken for granted. Crossovers are difficult to do, but Kingdom Hearts nails it. It doesn't feel like a game that little toddlers or kids can play, despite the perception of Disney being for kids, because the story and characters does have much more depth compared to the first game. It really demonstrates how our perception of the betterment of mankind isn't always the right decision. But then again...just playing this game isn't enough to understand the true attentions of the supposed antagonists of the game. Not all is as it seems. You can't judge a game one-dimensionally here, even if it's Disney-oriented. What this game introduces especially is live-action based Disney worlds. The first game had everything based on cartoons. Thus the game enabled the possibility of a bigger variety of worlds to be visited. Whilst one can simply appreciate visiting familiar Disney worldsand the characters associated with them, it is essential to keep track of the reason for you being there, which can easily be lost simply due to your easy association with the Disney world being more familiar. I admit that I can be lost in the plot due to this, and it's just fine. The game will do its best to keep up to date with your mission with its cutscenes...unless your attention spam is low. lol But seriously, the fun factor is where the game shines. Such great worlds, with cool combat, and boss battles. If you are a fan of Final Fantasy and/or Disney, it's a must get. It's easy to learn, but hard to master. Don't dismiss it as another Disney game, because it has just as much depth as any Final Fantasy or Disney game. I will criticize the AI though for being really unreliable or unfair, especially for Boss Battles. It has been carried over from the first game...at least in my experiences. Just be wary...bosses are not really a walk in the park. They require strategy and good use of moves and items...like most games? But never completely rely on allies. They only last as long as their AI capabilities allow them. Good for health and magic recoveries, when in desperate need,as well as a few boss hits but otherwise, it's virtually up to you. The game is so worth it. It's just a blast to play. The tutorial system does explain things quite well too. Do pay attention to them if you aren't sure of something. I give this game a 9/10, simply because despite its brilliance, the AI is off. Highly recommendedRead full review
