This set is a un-branded set but seems to be exactly the same as the branded version but with an empty bottle for the hone oil, the branded one seems to have the hone oil. I use the clipper oil from my local barber supply shop its a low viscosity mineral oil and work very well. I tried it on a cheap stainless knife that didn't really have an edge on it and it now cuts as good as my other knives. Recommend this as better price.

The course stones are such poor quality that you may be able to get an edge on just one blade. The finer stones seem OK so far. The Jaws that hold the blade in place do not have the rubber facing as the genuine Lansky. Therefore, the blade is not held securely. I have had to order some Genuine stones which I hope will fit

It is possible (and easy) to put an edge on a knife that will cleanly slice a sheet of paper. I sharpened about 6 knives when I received the kit, and in the end, I could see that the coarse stone was about 50% worn away! It must be very soft for this to happen.

For the extremely reasonable price, this set of sharpeners is great. The biggest stone wears down a lot faster than the others and popped out of it's holder. If you compare this item priced @ $13.95 to the Lansky set priced @ $130.00 this is also acceptable. I will buy another set.

Great product and does fabulous job of sharpening your knives. It will take a bit to get used to, but once u get the hang of it your knives will stay sharp.
