Not his best, but pretty good.

I should start off by saying that I'm a fan of Jackson Browne, one of the West Coast's legendary singer/songwriters, and have been since the seventies when he started his solo career. There are a couple of compilations including one "live" in my collection. This was his seventh solo album. It came out in the eighties and only has eight tracks which is not many for a CD, although to be fair it was probably recorded at the very end of the vinyl era just as CD's were about to be introduced. It's also co-produced and co-engineered by the late, great Greg Ladanyi. Lawyers In Love the title track is one of my favourite Jackson Browne songs and one of the main reasons that I bought the album. It's a great way to start the album, but for me it's an uneven album with exactly half or four tracks great and the rest so so. Perhaps Jackson's creative juices were starting to slow (or flow!) down as they usually do with any artist's long career. For example, there are only a few songs that I like on his later nineties' album Looking East. I think it's fair to say that probably much of his best work was produced in the seventies, and that's the best place to start with his career unless you collect one or more of his compilations.Read full review
