Highly recommend the gen 5 x1 Carbon. It is lighweight and has a great keyboard. For my purposes the i5 7200 chip is fine and also makes the computer quieter and battery lasts longer with this lower spec chip. Also the full HD screen looks great and also is more energy efficient than a higher definition screen. My only bugbear is I bought a refurbished unit and there were smudges and marks in the black textured finish on the top. Tried wiping with damp soapy cloth but could not fully remove oily finger marks. Would not last 5 minutes if you were eating a packet of chips and typing/handling the machine.

The battery life is not as long as advertised and expected, it can be used for around 5hours after fully charged. I know the battery life is depends on what I use the laptop to do but I hope the battery can insist 8 hours or more for normal usage after fully charged. However I am still satisfied with the laptop’s overall condition.
