A Trackball over a mouse would be a personal choice. I find that for left-hand use a Trackball suits me better. It enables me to do a large quantity of photographic organising a lot faster than I can do with a mouse. I feel this is due to the fact that I am not moving a mouse all over the desk. In fact, the desk is now tidier because I do not need to have a ratty looking mousepad on it. And the comfort factor of the way in which my large hand fits over the Trackball is another convincing factor that means I prefer it over a mouse.

This is an item I have used for many years, it is so easy to set up and very simple to use, no mouse pad required. my last one bought 10yrs ago has just been replaced with a new one exactly the same so the change over was very simple. At 79yrs, I do not want complicated, I would honestly recommend the marble ball mouse to anyone who has Arthritis or not so great finger power. Thank you Logitech for keeping us so well supplied. Best Mouse Ever. Especially for precision CAD work. Fits great in your hand. No more aches in your wrist or arm from having to move the hole mouse. Great driver software that lets you customize ever button. They need to make a wireless version that recharges via USB - that would be to ultimate! After a few years of use the trackball starts to get a bit harder to move but will still work. The three point of slid that hold the track ball in position wear over time. It would be great if you could purchase a service kit that had new replacement slides. Other than that, EXCELLENT!!

I am using this mouse for 7 years now. It is still running perfectly. The heavy ball allows applying inertia in speedy diagonals and precission without any wrist movements. By that way, it grants hours of use with little effort and without the fatique, the unfortunate problem many people in our time share after extensive use of mices requiring wrist movements. A bit of practice will allow you, at the same time, the precission which is common for high resolution devices but with aditional extreemly quick shifting from one part of the screen to another. For people who use the interface in a way to quickly alter from fine details to erratic but precise shifting to edges of the screen this device is simply above any other in this category. It is easy to clean, requiring much less space next to the keyboard than any other mouse and a pure joy to use. After years of using it, I can simply not imagine anything else as a substitute thanks to the awsome design. I am certainly happy to recommend this device to every professional spending 8 or more hours a day in front of the computer screen. This thing, symply, made my life easier.Read full review
