Great insight into the man and the legend of MP through the stories of people who knew him. A often hilarious and sometimes sad look at the enigma that was Michael Peterson, not just MP the surfing idol but also at the normal Aussie bloke Michael Peterson. I grew up in Tweed Heads/Coolangatta and was surrounded by the MP legend, my walls were covered with posters of him surfing, we all knew where he used to live, all the kids my ages used to watch the movies with him in it everyday at Tweed river High at lunch, all us surfers crammed into the video room., frothing over his sequences, I think we ruined the video of “morning of the earth” from pausing and rewinding it so much, MP was a local legend, everyone I knew had a story, there was the rare sightings spoken of as if it was a sighting of Bigfoot, or a story that was often funny, bizarre but almost certainly exaggerated, my Step mum knew him very well as her ex husband worked with him, she had plenty of stories about him, often funny as. Sadly the MP board I was given was lost many years ago. This book just added to the MP story that I’d already known, so many never before written about tales. I read this cover to cover in a night 335 pages of awesomeness, I couldn’t put it down. This is a must have if you have already read the autobiography “MP the life of Michael Peterson”. If you have a interest in the 1970’s era of surfing or just dig great stories buy this book. I hope they make a movie about his life.Read full review
