Well, I'll happily admit I'm a biased reader. I have been a fan of the Dune novels since my English teacher first introduced me to it in high school. With that said up front, of course I'm loving this final instalment of the Schools of Dune trilogy. This is the 17th novel and I'm about one third the way into it and I'm still enthralled with discovering the detail of the history behind the original novel. I would certainly not recommend any new reader of the Dune novels to begin here, obviously. I wouldn't even recommend any new reader to begin reading this epic story at the chronological beginning. To the newbies I say start with "Dune". This book is for those like myself who love the story and the universe of Frank Herbert's "Dune", the legacy of which has been, in my opinion, masterfully explored, continued and concluded by the collaboration of Brian Herbert and Kevin Anderson over the years. Well done, gentlemen, and thank you. You've made at least one Frank Herbert fan very, very happy!Read full review
