This movie is a degraded version of "City of Angels", only the story doesn't make any sense... A young idealistic woman spends 15 years of her life running after an alluring second-rate college classmate, the premise of the movie being their lifelong friendship, as they meet every 15th of July... Not only is the story loooooooong & booooooooring, but full of inconsistencies as well : 1. The movie begins with the graduation day, the hero having the heroine in his bed - but, oh!... oups!... He can't get it on, because she's "not very good at this"!!!!!.... ??? ....... A Don Juan is precisely skillful in ridding his mistresses of their angelic shame... :-) Since when does he refrain because his lady has scruples (which, by the way, the heroine doesn't really have)?! Where did the authors of this silliness grew up? Not on this good earth, for sure!... 2. The other postulate of this incurably puerile movie is the outstanding intelligence of the heroine - how then, if she's THAT smart, does she waste away her life drooling over 1 meeting a year with a half-wit? The Great Vizzini from "The Princess Bride" would have the answer to that : INCONCEIVABLE! I don't have the patience to itemize all the idiocies this film encompasses, but you get the idea... Was a great movie. I love romances and this one had a good ending so I went to bed happy. Well put together.
