Author Biography
In 1986, when Mickey Bolmer started writing Our New Tubman, he was teaching English at Norman Thomas Commercial High School, New York City. Previously, he had taught in central Pennsylvania and suburban Boston. After Norman Thomas, he would teach at Erasmus Hall High School in Brooklyn and for the New York City Writing Project in schools all over New York City. In 1991, Mickey became a full-time homemaker, and in 1997, when his daughter went to first grade, he began writing plays.
