Current slide {CURRENT_SLIDE} of {TOTAL_SLIDES}- Best Selling in Other Interface/Add-On Cards
The product is based on an old VIA chipset. Drivers for Windows 7 and 8 are available on the VIA website (you'll have to search for it yourself), and built in for Windows 10. The drivers are all dated, and the chipset on the expansion card is for an older series that appears to be no longer supported by VIA. The device plugs in easily enough, and with the right power cable, Win 10 recognises the device easily, with no specific driver installation required. And that's where the happiness ends. The product was purchased to run an Oculus Rift headset from, as it requires USB3.0, and the Oculus isn't 100% happy with my built in USB3.0 ports. As soon as I plugged in any of the Oculus sensors, the device would stop working and Windows would disable it. Requiring a restart. Any attempt to restart the device would lock the PC, requiring a hard reset. I tried several different PCIE ports, a few different connectors from the PSU, and all to no avail. It simply does not work when I plug in the Oculus sensor. I haven't tested the device with any other USB based items, as I just don't see the need. The front ports on my PC do that job sufficiently. The product is also supposed to come with a CD, it's not provided, in fact, the entire description has been copied from another website, which itself appears to have been copied from the VIA website. All in all, I cannot recommend the product for the purpose for which I purchased it. It simply does not work. You may have better luck with it.Read full review
