My dogs are medium sized, but Buster is always trying to get up on the bed but was finding it very difficult and although I had tried another brand before this one he refused to go up the steps as they where unstable and made of plastic and when I saw this one available I noticed that it was more solid and made of light weight timber and it came as a DIY kit and so easy to put together and now we cannot stop him from getting up on the bed, only wish we could train him to go down the steps. Great item and would recommend it to anyone that has a dog or cat.

The steps are what I paid for however the workmanship is very shoddy. I would strongly suggest the use of PVA glue when assembling these steps. The screws are not enough due to the cheap pine they are screwed into. The steps will only support the weight of small dogs as the small strips of pine used to support the structure will easily split. The screws provided are designed to be countersunk however the cheap pine you screw them into will strip before the screws countersink. Use hand tools or the key provided as a powered tool will probably strip the screws. The bottom of the stairs is unsealed so it will soak up liquids and crumble quite well! I sealed this with PVA, letting it dry before I put on the cover. The best part is the cover which has been designed well to fit around the stairs. If you have a staple gun you might get more stability and durability if you stapled the cover into place.Read full review

Easy to assemble, exactly what I want and my dog uses to climb up to couch. Cover is soft so no sharp edges and perfect size for where I wanted place. Very happy with product and price.

I bought this after previously buying the plastic frame type. The dimensions are the same, but the timber-board construction of these is far more durable and resilient to kids standing on it. The plastic types broke due to inadvertent child use (they claim it was an accident to stand on the steps) but this type can take such "mistakes". The dog loves it and it helps get her battle-weary paws up onto the bed without her arthritis inhibiting this, and also enables her to get down when she has to go outside in the night. Good height to reach beds and the couch. Readily portable.

My 14yr old cat was having difficulty jumping onto the lounge. She is abit heavy and had fallen off trying to jump up. She would also dig her claws into the leather to get a good grip. So I purchased the steps, which are actually quite sturdy and grip well enough onto the timber floor. We showed her once to the steps, and then she automatically took to using them! So no more falling off when jumping and no more claws in my lounge!
