He has clue to his true identity until a golden- eyed girl with pointed ears climbs into his bedroom window. She reveals to him that he is part of a great conflict that has been raging through the cosmos for more than six thousand years. Discover Rafer Thorne! A New Sci-fi Fantasy Book Series Created by Talented Students Right in the heart of Ashland Oregon! Rafer Thorne: Out of the Shrouded City, is the first book in a 3 book series. A creative collaboration combining the talents of college students at Southern Oregon University and Ashland high school students who are talented in the creative arts. Seventeen year old Victoria designed the cover art and wrote the final installment for the Teg sequence at the end of the book. Fifteen-year-old Emily created the manga sequence at the end of chapter 5. Thirteen-year-old Maximillian designed the Chupacabra in chapter 23. The cover art, various back story pieces, character sketches and creative writing pieces, were written by students. Professionals in Ashland, Oregon are also on our publishing team, graphic designers, authors, college professors, game designers and film makers. In addition to the novel, we are also working on an animated short to be used as a book trailer, a fantasy card game that will eventually be a video game, an interactive eBook and a fully acted audio book, all with contributions from high school and university students.
