One of the best written shows. Witty, entertaining, very English and completely anachronistic. If you're a nerd like me, it pays to pause occasionally to Google the poetry references (or get a copy of the Oxford Book of verses) The only downside of this DVD set is that it's missing John Mortimer's introductions to every episode.

It's a smart and funny show with many great verbal jokes and many apt quotes from poetry and literature. Written and created in a different era but hinting at developing changes to norms.

This is some of the best television ever produced. Amusing, clever and a reflection of life. Brilliant plots and well written characters. Excellent performances by a first class cast.

It tells tales of life and how the judicial system works - sometimes good and then again bad. I would call it a good programme to watch if considering law. It is funny and very much real without fairydust.
