I bought this lens second hand for night and particularly, aurora photography. It is easy to focus..infinity is actually infinity unlike many lenses. The camera does read detail from the lens, though it is manual aperture and focus. Its well made and feels like a quality product. I'm glad i bought it and would recommend it to others.

Very sharp, right into the corners, and I'm a pixel-peeper. Must say that I only use it on a crop-sensor Canon 50D. But realise that this lens has no autofocus and only uses manual exposure, so it takes a little experimentation to get to know this lens in various conditions; for example, it requires over or under exposure, depending on f/stop and the focus ring is an inaccurate indicator or focal distance. On that issue, focus is difficult to ascertain visually so I spent some time getting to know how to use the focus ring instead. But if you understand hyperfocal distances, wideangle lenses have a large depth of view. So it is excellent in conditions where one has learned to use the focus ring, exposure and has time to take the shot. So it wouldn't be first choice for street photography, but for most other situations, an excellent lens. Not a lens for casual photographers; needs more work but repays with very sharp, contrasty, colourful images. A surprisingly good lens for about $400. For a fully auto lens, expect to pay at least four times as much, and even then, perhaps no sharper or even less sharp if the reviews are right.Read full review
This is a really great lens. It's very sharp. It's solid and feels well made, focus is nice and smooth. The distortion is a little crazy but manageable, and most of the time you probably won't notice it. Last of all and probably most importantly it's affordable compared to the other fixed 14mm primes.
Manual focus & aperture, just like the good old days. Great build quality, very solid & works perfectly. Brilliant images from this lens on my Canon EOS 6D.

Very good in night photography. I got a shot of milky way last night in a petrol shed though I had a very little time. I was impressed by the image
