I have had heaps of different types of headphones for all purpose these have always been my favourite brand. Best sound quality and most durable and stylish looks.

It's expensive, and definitely sounds very expensive. Not crazily analytic though, it's just very refine and subtle. Music across the sound spectrum has been very well kept in proportion. Personally I prefer it to my NAD HP50. Although with different sound signature, it's on par with a few of my custom in-ear monitors, if not better, regarding the sound quality. For all your headphones with this price level ($300) and up, it makes sense to spent extra money on lossless music files and a usb DAC/headphone amp, given you don't listen to your headphones only through your hifi system. My only complaint is those earcups are too small for a over-the-ear style and press your ears quite hard that it gets a bit uncomfortable to wear during long listening sessions.
If you want to experience true sound without over done bass, these are great. You can wear them for hours and not experience any real discomfort.
The best headphones I've ever had.
