BACK OF BOOK SAYS: like all the bedwyn men, aidan has a reputation for cool arogance. but this proud nobleman also possesss a loyal passionate heart and it is this fierce loyalty that has brought colonel lord aidan to ringwood anor to honor a dying soliders request. having promised to comfort and protect the man's siter, aidan never expected to find a headstrong fiercely independent woman who wants no part of his protection nor did he expect the feelings this beguiling creature would ignite in his guarded heart. one thing i like about these novels is that they have real substance. the characters have a solid background. what i dislike is when the heroine keeps bring up the fact that it is a marriage of convience. well for me, if you are living together AND SLEEPING then it's become a real marriage. and i was annoyed about her harping about paying the clothing bill. i also wanted to punch his lights out when she first came to england and said all those things about her going home and he didn't need her etc. i like the fact that they have several love scenes together not just the standard one that most regencies have. one of my favorite scenes is the scene with the black dress. i'm also happy that wulf stood up for her at the end. i also felt bad that even though she was sleeping with the guy and married to the guy, that she didn't feel she could ask can i go horse back riding too? and how could he have asked her, if he didn't know she liked it? some times...... the first book in this series is a summer to remember. this book is 2nd one, slightly married. book three is slightly wickedRead full review
Really enjoyed this book. Super romantic- I thought it moved at a very nice speed. I liked it so much I am purchasing the rest of the books in the slightly collection. The other nice thing was this book was stand alone. So you don’t have to read them in order. But here is the order incase you want to: Prequel - One Night For Love Prequel - A Summer to Remember 1. Slightly Married 2. Slightly Wicked 3. Slightly Scandalous 4. Slightly Tempted 5. Slightly Sinful 6. Slightly Dangerous I was totally wrapped up in this love story. I tore threw it in 2 days. I loved how The author would skip ahead when there was nothing for the Character to do but wait. ( I’ve read lots of books were your forced to wade threw a whole lot of filler for the parts you want . This book is no filler and only the parts you want to read!) I found the Characters to be slightly over the top( Slightly he he :) ) But , mostly believable and definitely loveable. Once I finished I was eager to hear more about Aidan’s brothers and sister. Especially Freja and Wulfric! So I thought it was a wondrous idea how each book tells the love of one of the Bedwyns . Aside from Maybe Wulf , The other Brothers and Sisters play only a small part in this book. they are introduced and make you want to hear more about them! The reason I said good and not excellent was that the author dose one thing that bugged me a bit. Once someone had said something- The other person would think on it and she would write what had been said over and over, while they pondered whatever was said. The only other reason was that the story is for the most part very predictable. I didn’t mind as It was very enjoyable anyway and I am looking forward to reading the rest of the books in the Simply collection.Read full review
If you have never read this author, and you like regency romance, RUN, do NOT walk, to get books by her. They are in series format, at least these are, the 'Slightly' series. The 'Only' series is one of my favorites!

I like Mary Balogh books. The characters have strong personalities and I like the way they each work together. Another good story.
