Hi All, My First Sony camera and last Sony camera. Why? First the good news: Excellent Auto focus for moving object and sports (Impressive) Excellent image quality even with the 16-50mm kit lens (Slight purple fringe) With overpriced Sonnar SEL24F18Z Zeiss lens Excellent image quality - but no image stabilizer only digital zoom and then you cannot use touch screen focus unless you are on full wide (no Zoom) Sony Fan boys tolerate them from A5000 - A6300 currently (More buttons and quicker access) On the A5100 you are left to menu dive and the user interface for normal (non Sony people) Bad: Macro focus accuracy is bad very bad if object doesn't fill aperture. User interface - pathetic. Software Play memories - fails to install unless you disable Wifi firewall / Antivirus and then it still does not allow Wifi up loads - so back to the cable or SD card removal. Will overheat on long videos. Summary. Sony has a great Sensor, good lens, Sony engineers have over engineered the crap out of options (Except possible scenes - missing a number of them) which is a pity - let down by Sony User interface and software which is like mining for your desired feature combinations when compared to say the majority of Olympus or Lumix(Panasonic) which are more intuitive to users out of the BOX. Sony needs to understand there are better way to make the users experience more pleasurable and faster for users who do like to override and not memories so many combinations. Sony disappoints more than it surprises compared to other camera brands and it is their user interface. Hope this helps.Read full review

I bought this camera as a travel camera due to its size and amazing capabilities. Shooting RAW photos is a must for me and being able to shoot full HD at 50fps is something I always look for. Something that drew me to this camera was it's touch screen, being able to touch focus makes filming a breeze and makes techniques like a pull focus really easy. I always shoot on my A7s ii but this makes the perfect b roll/vlog camera. Two downsides to this camera is there is no audio input jack, and there's a bit more grain then usual when in extreme low lights. But for me that was expected with anything so small. I highly recommend this camera, for anyone at any level of photography. The size makes it perfect to take anywhere and it's capabilities mean you get amazing results.

It has all the functions you need to get a really great photo. It's light and easy to carry. Its great for self portrait and bluring the background. And it does landscapes really well.
