I installed this starter motor into a 2001 Vectra 2.6 Manual Sedan. This is a hellish and fiddly job so only the very brave home mechanic who has a good range of tools should take it on (eg. need to remove front exhaust & drive shaft and CVs & then heat shield and starter motor, require 1ltr. Castrol Syntrans 75-85W for top up). Service Manual quotes 5 hours for this task.....but took me 20hours. The car now has overcome sluggish starter motor performance...which particularly seemed like "heat sink" issues. Motor consistently spins freely when starting with the new starter motor. Though small adaption to the starter motor heat shield will be required (ie. drill a new hole) as the spacer on the starter motor is slightly shorter than the original......also will need to source an appropriate sized nut at that fixing, as the bolt is smaller than the original, and that nut is not supplied on the new replacement started motor!. Good Luck !Read full review
