The versatile, intelligent Tekonsha Primus IQ is an electric brake control which suits a variety of trailers and can be set up for either single or tandem axle. Entirely self-levelling, it includes a Boost feature to assist braking when towing heavier trailers. An LED readout gives an at a glance view of the voltage to the trailer breaks, the security of the connection and diagnostic information.

Great Value and Quality
This is an upgrade on previous versions being sold. You no longer have to have the controller facing a certain direction which makes it plug and play. I use it for carrying cars and it has excellent, quick access buttons to increase braking on trailer. The portable set up looks well made and wiring connections feel strong. I was quoted $600 to have one hard wired into car but if I change cars, money is lost. Very happy with this unit.

I did not hesitate in buying my second Primus IQ controller for our new car after travelling/towing 80,000klm around Australia over the past 3 years. Easy to set up and use and small enough for mounting to the side of the steering column. Make sure you break in the unit with 3-4 solid brake stops when your trailer/van is hooked up.
