There’s something about this movie that’s kept me coming back to it over the years, maybe it’s the nostalgia for 70’s era movies or its the stunning visuals, the napoleonic war setting.. or quite possibly the musical score. Most likely it’s all of that and to also see Harvey Keitel & Keith Carradine in earlier roles is captivating, like watching from a window in time. The ending is brilliant & when he looks out over that cliff with the sun breaking through the clouds gives me goosebumps every time. A rare gem of a film that deserves better recognition & demands satisfaction. There I said it
