I bought this book after watching a show on SBS hosted by Dr Michael Mosley about various approaches to health and weight loss, and why such things are important. The book contains an excellent brief summary of the rationale behind the "fast diet", or "5:2" diet as it is also known. The recipes are for interesting meals that are relatively easy to prepare and are appropriate for the days when you have to limit your calorie intake. Using this book has saved my wife and I from having to figure out what we could possibly eat on a day that we're only allowed 600 calories. For a non-cook like me, this has been fabulous. We've only been on the diet now for three weeks, so it's a bit early to evaluate the merits of the diet, but the meals from the book - especially a couple of the soups - have been quite delicious and filling.
