This is an excellent Australian six part series about the trials & tribulations of an indigenous family living in the northern rivers of NSW. The story feels real and the actors/actresses brought the story to life (with a little help from directors, producers, editors, et al). in 6 hours of captivating performances. I was so engaged by the story that I am disappointed that there isn't more to come. Most of the performers are also involved in the series "Redfern Now".

I bought this DVD series because I'd loved it on TV and was familiar with the male lead, Kelton Pell, from 'The Circuit' TV series. The storyline could be relevant to Australians of any origin, but the series has a predominantly indigenous cast. The struggles and aspirations of this extended family's life is heart-warming in the simple focus on family as essential to a life well-lived, and intriguing through the observations of its departed but always nurturing matriarch. I loved being able to follow the story with continuity, but wish this tale could be extended to a following series, though many of the cast were, happily, springboarded to roles in 'Redfern Now', for example. Highly recommended!
