I bought the book "The Phantom of the Opera" as my previous copy was unfortunately lost. It's a book I enjoy reading every year or two. I love the cover of this copy, being a photo of the real Opera House in Paris, where the story is meant to take place. As a novel, I find this very engrossing, for the intriguing way it was written plus for the story it tells. Many consider the Phantom's story a horror story due to the violence in it, but I see it more as the horror of human nature due to the way he was treated because of his deformity and how this ill-treatment by his fellow human beings turned him into the monster that he became. I find "The Phantom of the Opera" one of the best novels I have ever read.
