Only Disney could try to charge about $50.00 for a re-release but I found it selling for under $40.00. I have been a fan of Star Wars from '77, now nearly 40 years on I still love the films. I have the original 3 in all formats - tape, Laserdisc and DVD. I have all 6 on Bluray and I took a chance on buying SW7 in 3D as I already have it on Bluray. I must say I am extremely happy I did. I saw the film in 3D at the Movies but with the Bluray 3D played on good gear the clarity and especially the 3D effect should blow you away. Because much of the film sets are recognisable the 3D keeps drawing you in, e.g. so that's what the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon looks like in 3 dimensions. Unlike some 3D movies which tend to be patchy in their use of 3D Disney has really got it right. It is consistent throughout. Although the movie was not shot in native 3D the conversion is the best I have seen. The 3D is up there or surpasses Avatar for adding to the visual effect and if you don't like the 3D effect in SW7 then go back to watching your films in 2D. Read full review
