One thing I love about Koen is that her novels don't seem to border on the impossible and the inane. The main characters encounter life as it really is which is, often without the predictable happy ending. I am a devotee of historical fiction and find Koen's writing interesting and educational. She offers a glimpse of life during the Restoration including the economic crisis that hit England at that time. I bought this book because I had read Dark Angels and this book is a sequel.
This is a wonderful book that I couldn't put down. The main character is an innocent young girl who begins a life with blinders on, an innocence that is shattered piece by piece, through life's trials and tribulations. She finds that her man who she has put upon a pedestal crashes! This heroin shows us how much a person can truely take and still survive. I would highly recomend this book.
