Way back when popsters had a hit single, sometimes they would experiment & take a chance on the B-side with a kind of wacky, off-kilter tune. Many times these B-sides were more fun than the A-side. So what we have here is seldom-heard Aussie pop-psych and more. Good to hear Ray Brown singing The Who's "Ivor, The Engine Driver" and The Laurie Allen Revue doing The Byrds' "Not Born To Follow". Much of the rest is pretty obscure by Top 40 standards but it's an excellent compilation with the usual suspects (Masters Apprentices, Ronnie Burns, Dave Miller Set, Normie Rowe, etc) turning on the paisley and patchouli. Buy it, switch on that lava lamp and pass the hookah...!! CD comes with a great booklet full of pics and info.
