If you're into vintage clothing for Barbie, this book is for you! There are many wonderful patterns to choose from, when you want to re-create those fashions from the 60's, and this time you get to pick the material and fabric. I have sewn for Barbie and bigger dolls, (Ellowyne, Betsy McCall, Daisy and Willow) and the bigger dolls are much easier than Barbie--she's just so teeny to turn those necklines and armholes under! But the helpful instructions and close up pictures in this book make it sooooo much easier! These are things most patterns never explain. I found this book to be worth every penny of the price, as patterns today are so expensive, and there haven't been any new cool Barbie patterns in awhile--the same ones have been in McCalls and Simplicity and Butterick books for years. You get so many, that it comes out to about $2 a pattern. This is not a book for the novice seamstress--doll clothes are just too small for that--but it makes it much easier to get started sewing for your "girls".Read full review
I thought there would be more of the pre 1965 dress patterns. The ones that are given are nice, but I was disappointed in the choices of clothing.

I like the quality of the book editing, and the way everything is clearly explained. I dont't like the simplicity of the designs, they may be vintage, but they look old.
