Die Wirtschaftspriifung ist in Deutschland lange und bis in die Gegenwart iiberwiegend unter rechtlichem und priifungstechnischem Aspekt behandelt worden. Mit den Arbeiten von Zimmermann' und Loitlsberger' hat sich eine 6konomische Betrachtung des Sachgebietes durchgesetzt, der der Verfasser sich verbunden fiihlt. Der Verfasser antizipiert den Vorwurf, daB er keine Theorie der Priifung vorlegt. Er sieht aber einstweilen keine M6glichkeit, eine geschlossene Theorie im Sinne eines Systems von, Wenn-Dann-Satzen' vorzulegen, diezugleich hinreichend praxisnah ware. Ausgehend von den Zielen, die mit Priifungen und Gutachten verfolgt werden, laBt sich deduktiv eine Anzahl von Aussagen yom Typus Wer dieses Ziel verfolgt, muB jenes tun gewinnen. Nicht wenige solcher, Wenn-Dann-Thesen' werden vorgelegt - wenn auch meist nicht in dieser strengen Form -, sie sind aber nur Bauelemente einer Theorie der Priifung. Der Versuch, die Probleme des Faches in einer Institutionslehre zu erfassen, ist, noch ehe er ernstlich un tern ommen wurde, gescheitert. Wie auf allen Gebieten der Betriebs- wirtschaftslehre verdrangen die Sachfragen, sobald sie hinreichend erfaBt sind, die In- 3 stitutionenlehre - Balance aus Savary, Le parfait negociant, Ausgabe von 1752, unter veranderter Beschriftung der Waagschalen. 1 Vgl.
