Additional information
It's easy to forget, since lead singer Frankie Valli got most of the attention and press, that the Four Seasons started out (and remained) an intact and self-contained band throughout their career, and keyboardist, songwriter, arranger, and producer Bob Gaudio in particular had a huge part in determining and shaping the group's sound and legacy. This two-disc set collects key tracks from the Four Seasons' early years ("Sherry," "Dawn [Go Away]," "Silence Is Golden," "Rag Doll," "Walk Like a Man," "Big Girls Don't Cry," "Candy Girl," "Ronnie") in the 1960s on disc one and adds tracks from the group's comeback years ("Who Loves You," "December 1963 [Oh What a Night!]") in the mid-'70s on the second disc to make a well-rounded portrait of this unique and often unsung vocal band. All the essentials are here. ~ Steve Leggett
