I was looking for a color calibration tool for our home computer setup, 6 screens, that would be reliable and easy to use. Many hours of research later and the final outcome was that I bought this calibration tool. It is very easy to use, load the program onto the PC, open it and it will guide you through the steps to perform the first calibration. The calibration file is the saved for the relevant PC monitor and installed automatically. However you can always go back to the manufactures calibration file if you so desire. We now have 6 monitors that are set to the same values and it is more accurate then what we could ever have achieved without the calibration tool. If there is one thing that I like to see is a longer USB cable for the calibration sensor, it is just under 2 meters long and I had to use a extension cable to reach all monitors. 3 meters or 10 feet would have been better for my situation. The X-Rite display calibration device is easy to use and accurate. All professionals working in the visual arts field needs to be working on colour and luminance calibrated screens and this is an easy and quick (and relatively cheap) way of ensuring that. Depending on the computer speed the calibration takes about 5 minutes. I-profliler app evens reminds you when it needs to be done again.

Bought this over the less expensive Colormunki Display model from the same maker. The included software of the iDisplay Pro is much more versatile and for me worth the extra price. And it is also considerably (several times, maybe 4-5x) faster. The hardware itself is identical between the two models, the only difference is indeed the software. I had a look inside and it uses real glass filters, not gelatin filters that degrade over time. No regrets going for the i1Display. I bought it exclusively to calibrate my monitors for photo editing, and it excels at doing this. The feature of adjusting the display brightness on the fly for ambient light is just a sales gimmick though, no practical value for me.
