I was going to buy a far more expensive big brand tripod but thought would give this a try first, for under 50 dollars it represents great value yes the plastic feel a little flimsy but that's not an issue if you take care of your equipment I use this with a d800 and a fairly heavy sigma 50mm art lens and it has prove quite stable even in heavy wind although would have been better had I used some more weight on the hook Only used it a couple of times but so far so good and for the price you can afford to buy 6 of these for the price of one big brand tripod

The Zomei Q111 is a good looking, lightweight yet sturdy tripod stand. The stand incorporates a spirit level and I found it easy to setup with it's flexible sliding aluminum locking legs. The tripod has a center neck extension that uses a crank handle to wind it out and a locking knob to set and lock the height, On the bottom side it has a hook to allow hanging a stabilizing load such as a bag. The camera firmly attaches to a detachable base plate that is then inserted to the head assembly via a locking lever, for the exercise I used my Pentax XG-1 bridge camera. The pan and tilt functions and associated knob and arm controller work well as does the camera swivel function. The tripod comes with a robust carry zip bag with an adjustable strap. The build quality is good, it looks great in red, it's stable and lightweight and does the job for what it's intended for. The crank action for the neck extension is sticky and the locking knob is required to secure the extension into place. The Zomei Q111 is great value for money as my first tripod.Read full review

Very solid construction with some real weight to it which adds to its great stability. Very quick and easy to setup due to smooth sliding legs and fast release/lock levers. Tripods of similar quality sell for well over $100. Very happy with my purchase and have already recommended it to other photographers who also purchased one immediately after seeing mine.

The title doesn't mean it's not a good product. It just means that this tripod serves its purpose well but when on vacation, if you accidentally left it behind at the hotel lobby, you won't feel too bad. While it gets the job done and is an aesthetically pleasing product to look at, it's not entirely suitable for high end cameras like a 5D MkIV. This is a great product to bump into a wall with, as long as the camera mounted to it is something you do the same to. In other words, it's light and compact and better suits light and compact cameras. May support DSLRs but to be realistic, the Canon equivalent would be the 750D or something at that price point. A throw away 50mm f1.8 on that body is something you can trust on this tripod - less so a $1500 50mm f1.2 on a 5D MkIV. So buy it. It's a great product... unless you fancy yourself a protographer? In which case, buy something just a little more sturdier to match your pricier gear. At this price point for this tripod though, it's hard to think of it in other terms than a win really.Read full review
