Great alternative to lugging around all your gear with you (amps, effects, cabinets, etc). Plus the time it takes to setup all your gear for performances and pack up π₯. You just need to take your guitar, the Irig 2, 2 guitar leads (1 to connect to the Irig 2 and the other to connect to a speaker/P.A. or your amp if you wish), your phone, tablet or PC(you connect the Irig 2 to these devices because you need the downloadable apps to be able to create the sounds and effects). If you want to play without disturbing the people around you, just simply plug-in your headphones and only you can hear it. Or if you don't feel like dragging out your amp or PA, I sometimes connect it straight into my JBL Charge 2, if I don't feel like using my headphonesπ You should find the compatible apps for the Irig 2 in both the Apple and Android Stores plus PC software like Amplitude if you want to run the software on Windows or Mac . "Tonebridge" from Ultimate guitar, is what got me interested in the Irig 2ππ. I tested it with Tonebridge, they have worked very hard to replicate some of the most iconic guitar players signature sounds, some take a little tweaking to get the levels consistent and clean, but overall it's pretty amazing and mind blowing just what they have accomplished and the Irig 2 allows us to use these signature sounds when used with apps like these. Overall the bottom line: It can be used as an alternative to your existing gear. a great practice tool. great for music creation on the go. in the right hands with the right apps or software could easily be adapted to live performance. can be used as an alternative to traditional gear, if you wish. If your just starting out, its an extremely inexpensive way to get started on a low budget. All you need to get started is the Irig 2, a guitar (electric or acoustic electric), guitar lead, headphones, download one of the free or paid Irig 2 compatible apps and connect to your phone or tablet and start playing. (You should already have most of this gear already), So really the only thing you should need to actually purshase is the Irig 2π and your ready to goπΈπ§ππΆπ΅.
