About us
We are an Australian business that has been retailing fabrics and designing patterns for small wall quilts since 1997. Our designs have grown out of the things that matter to us, our own experiences, our hopes and prayers, and our loves.
We love all kinds of fabrics, bright and vibrant ones, ones that stir our imagination to envisage new projects, or invite us just to lose ourselves in looking.
All those years ago when my sister and I began, we all had young children. Quilting symbolised for us the kind of home we wanted to build for them wrapped in love and security. But quilting also became something we could lose ourselves in, deaf to the sounds of squabbles and blind to the dishes still on the sink.... an escape for as long as we could make it last. Hence our name 'Runaway Quilts'. (You can run away without leaving home).
