About us
Founded by Rona Bierrum FGA DGA EG GIA DG AJP in 2016, ShinyPrettyThings offers a range of vintage and antique jewellery, with a focus on quality of design and craftsmanship.
Rona is a globally recognised gemmology expert and diamond grader with over a decade's experience of handling fine antique and vintage jewellery. She left a PhD in Fine Art to join the jewellery world in 2007.
After working for a Bond Street jeweller for 4 years, she set up her own jewellery business and studied gemmology, graduating with prizes and medals before taking the role of Visiting Senior Tutor between 2013-2020. In this time Rona continued to work freelance; buying fine jewellery at markets and fairs around the world, researching them, before selling them on to well-known jewellers around the world.
Shiny Pretty Things Ltd represents Rona's move into retail, bringing her finds directly to you - do get in touch if you would like any advice or help building or refining your collection!

Seller communication is excellent. However, the charm was sent to E.bay's Authenticators prior to being sent to me after purchase & I was contacted by the seller to say it had failed authentication due to Not having a UK import mark. E.Bay refunded my money & returned the charm to the seller so I never got to receive it. The seller contacted me with details of alternative sites they will advertise the charm on but I feel wary paying £650:00 for it knowing it has failed the authentication process
